B Safe Salford

B Safe Salford is a Year 6 Youth Crime Prevention initiative hosted at the GMFRS Bury Training Centre. Salford City Council, along with our partners have devised a full day of sessions, these sessions are relevant and informative. The day runs from around 9.30/9.45 and runs until 2.30/2.45.

The Safer Schools team have managed to secure Greater Manchester Combines Authority (GMCA) funding for 2025/2026. Transport will be arranged to get the pupils and staff to the facility. We are running days in on the 1st, 3rd and 4th July 2025.

On a typical B Safe Salford day we host for around 60 pupils, this allows for 2 x 1FE schools or a 2FE school. We are able to push to 75 pupils should your school have a 1.5FE year group.

Layout to the day

Pupils are picked up between 8.45/9am and will make their way to the facility. On arrival pupils will put their coats and bags in the coloured lockers and will be split into groups, schools will remain together. Each group consists of around 10 pupils and a staff member per group is required.

Once split into groups there are introductions from GMFRS and the Safer Schools teams and a quick run down of the day. We aim to get sessions started for 10am.

Sessions run throughout the day and there are two lunch sessions as can be seen on the sample timetable.

At around 2.30 pupils will all gather on the Street of the facility and a we will close the day. We aim to get pupils back on the bus and on their way back to school for 3pm.

Our timetable is completely flexible and we can work timings to suit your school, please ensure you mention this when booking a B Safe Salford Day.
