Information for all settings: Introduction of the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Bill 2024

The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Bill 2024, commonly referred to as Martyn’s Law, was introduced on Thursday 12 September 2024 to ensure that certain premises and events, including education settings, are better prepared and ready to respond to a terrorist attack.

Settings will have time prior to the bill’s implementation, to understand new obligations, and to plan and prepare. For more detail please see the Home Office factsheets.

Guidance is available for education settings to help review and develop plans to respond to terrorism and other major incidents.
